The Best Waves in the Maldives

North Male features some of the best and most consistent waves in all of the Maldives. We have waves of all experiences, shapes and sizes within 15 minutes of our guesthouse.

Jailbreaks

Our home break Jailbreak is just a five-minute walk away, free to paddle out any time of day, it’s a perfect right-hander with three sections. Jailbreak offers waves from intermediate surfers to advanced surfers. On a good swell you can ride long walls and tube sections.

Honkeys

Honkeys is a ‘goofie’ or left. The first peak is mellow, the second peak attaining a height almost double the first giving a long perfect ride.

Sultans

Sultans is a fast (right hander) wave creating two sections, the first peak mellow leading to the second. Both are perfect barrels giving a ride of around 200 metres. Although usually crowded, it’s quite deep and this makes it more of a competitive surf, rather than a beginners wave.

Cokes

Cokes is a hollow and tubular right-hander that breaks over a shallow reef and is known as one of the best waves in the Maldives. The wave’s name is due to the Coca-Cola factory nearby on the island of Thulusdhoo. Works best with winds from south and north-east.

Chickens

Our home break Jailbreak is just a five-minute walk away, free to paddle out any time of day, it’s a perfect right-hander with three sections. Jailbreak offers waves from intermediate surfers to advanced surfers. On a good swell you can ride long walls and tube sections.

Ninjas

A slow right-hander that’s good for both beginners and long-boarders. The break is named Ninjas because of the many Japanese surfers who like to surf it. It is accessible 20-25 minutes from our island by boat.

Pasta Point

Private left-hand wave restricted to Dhonveli resort guests only.

Lohis
